Program:

• Learning about gardening and taking care of a small garden for the week

• Learning about nature – common species, nutrient cycle, water cycle, food chain – in a fun and inspiring way

• Whole day trip to Harakka island, where we collect plankton samples, use microscopes, visit small aquarium, catch insects, observe birds, and make food in campfire

• Learning about water power and how to make a simple water turbine

• Learning about worm compost and decomposers and establishing a worm compost – kids have a possibility to get a worm compost starting pack to take home

• Creating mini ecosystem into a jar

• Nature Olympics

• Picnics

• Learning to identify wild herbs

• Nature art with plants and other natural material

• Plenty of nature games and observing nature with all five senses

• Making own snacks and finding ingredients from the garden

Location

Four days in Kamu Early Education kindergarten and it’s surrounding environment. One day in Harakka island (we will meet in Kaivopuisto in the morning and kids need to be picked from the same location).
